Irving City Council Implements New Pet Registration Guidelines
Beginning June 1, Irving residents will need to register any cat or dog over the age of 4 months. The new guidelines will help reduce the number of pets held at the Animal Shelter by ensuring the quick return of lost pets to their owners.
Pet registration fees have been implemented in most Metroplex cities, with Irving being one of the last to administer such a program. A reduced fee is offered to owners who microchip and/or have their pets fixed.
Annual pet registration fees are as follows:
- $5 - Microchipped pet
- $10 - Non-microchipped; spayed or neutered
- $15 - Non-microchipped; not spayed or neutered
Fees are not required for service animals that assist the hearing or physically impaired. For more information click the link below:
